Sandra Stokes, LICSW
Sandra Stokes (she/her) is a licensed independent clinical social worker who has been practicing in the field for over 10 years. Sandra graduated with her Masters of Social Work from Smith College School for Social Work in Western Massachusetts. After graduating from her Master’s program, Sandra worked for 7 years on the inpatient Mother/ Baby Unit at a major medical institution in Boston, MA. In this position, Sandra primarily offered brief, solution-focused and crisis intervention services, with special areas of practice in Perinatal Bereavement and Substance Use Disorders.
In January 2022, Sandra moved to Port Angeles, WA to be closer to her family and she began practicing as an outpatient mental health provider with the Lower Elwha Tribe. Sandra worked for 2 years with the Social Service Departments’ Healthy Transitions Program, before moving into her current role as a mental health provider and clinical supervisor with the LEKT Health Department.
Sandra is committed to helping clients reduce distress so that they can live their best life possible. Sandra practices through a relational framework; placing emphasis on the ways in which we relate to ourselves and to others in our daily life. Sandra’s work is client-centered with particular attention paid to an individual’s cultural and family heritage. Sandra hopes that every client she meets feels seen and heard, while also feeling safe and cared for. Sandra believes that therapy is a two way street, and that every client will get as much out of the work as they are willing and/ or able to contribute.
Outside of work, Sandra enjoys spending time with family, being in and around water, and exploring the Pacific Northwest.
