Meghan Fitzgerald PhD Biology, LMHCA
Meghan Fitzgerald is a Co-Occurring Mental Health Therapist with an office at Klallam Counseling Services. She works with clients who have experience trauma, depression, anxiety, and other mental health concerns as well as “Co-Occurring” clients who have mental health concerns, and also struggle with substance use. She received a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2023, a few years after receiving a PhD in Biology in 2016.
Meghan believes that all living beings are worthy of love & respect, and that learning how to feel accepted is foundational to our work in mental health. The type of therapy she uses is called Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) which uses a combination of self-awareness, thought exercises, and building a foundation of self-acceptance to help find grace for ourselves and others in our struggles.
When not working with clients, Meghan loves spending time in the garden with her family, enjoying a strawberry ice cream from Welly’s, or exploring the beautiful Olympic Peninsula and all it has to offer.
