Roxanne Charles, Certified Peer Support Specialist

Roxy is a Certified Peer Support Specialist and proud Lower Elwha Klallam Tribal member who brings deep compassion, cultural grounding, and lived experience to her work at Klallam Counseling Services. She began her journey with KCS right out of high school and has served the clinic on and off since 2002, growing alongside the community she loves.

Roxy chose this field to support individuals facing mental health and substance use challenges—experiences she understands personally from her own childhood. Over the past seven years, Peer Support has become her true calling. Before returning home to KCS, she gained extensive experience through street outreach, learning to meet people where they are with respect, empathy, and unwavering support.

What brought Roxy back to KCS is simple: this is her community, and serving it is part of who she is. She is dedicated to helping individuals with real, felt needs—whether through services within the clinic or by connecting them to trusted community resources. A natural networker, Roxy maintains strong relationships with local agencies, helping keep KCS connected and engaged within the broader community. For Roxy, being invited into someone’s recovery journey is a profound honor.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her dogs and family, cooking for others, and relaxing with friends on the weekend.
