Klallam Counseling Services (KCS) is a State approved substance use disorder treatment agency offering comprehensive outpatient treatment services. Our mission is to provide Behavioral Health Treatment Services to native and non-native individuals and their family members by providing them with the structure to make the lifestyle choices and changes that will give them a sense of freedom and an overall improved quality of life.

Our Program

At Klallam Counseling Services we follow a DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) curriculum for all of our Intensive Outpatient Groups and many of our Aftercare groups. DBT helps to focus on changing the recovering addict’s surroundings and behavior through learning skills in the areas of: mindfulness, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and emotional regulation.

Treating the Whole Person

As part of our DBT curriculum, we start every treatment group at KCS with meditation and a talking circle. This helps clients to focus and be fully present for that day’s group lesson. We also currently offer acupuncture to our Intensive Outpatient Groups. In addition to the long list of health benefits associated with acupuncture, it can help those in recovery ease withdrawal symptoms, help decrease stress and anxiety, promote relaxation, mindfulness and help with sleep regulation.

Our treatment groups work hard to accommodate a variety of different learning styles. In addition to lectures and group processing, we offer hands on and interactive activities, art therapy projects, group outings, Native American cultural projects and lessons along with a variety of different learning experiences.
